In July of 2022, Acorn Training School, a private vocational school, opened its doors to pupils. It is licensed by the Ministry of Gender, Labor, and Social Development to train Ugandan migrant workers for abroad employment. It is a school for pre-departure and orientation training. The syllabus is developed by the IOM with practical input from the MGLSD, recruitment companies and former returnees. This adds a realistic touch of practicality.

It is the leader in pre-departure orientation training in the areas of competency learning, hands-on skilling, performance evaluations, and student-centred learning. Students must demonstrate learning as a minimum requirement for graduation.

We are a small school with a monthly output capacity of 312 students. Every week we have the capacity to pump out 156 students.
